About Yumi Murayama
Yumi Murayama, the founder and principal designer of YU+ME Design Inc., brings a distinctive global perspective to her work. Born and raised in Japan, Yumi is deeply influenced by the refined simplicity of minimalist architecture and the harmony found in nature. Her passion for design took her to North America in 2001, where she later earned her Interior Design certification in 2013.
With years of experience as a senior designer and stylist at a renowned Danish brand, Yumi saw firsthand that every client has unique needs that go beyond standard solutions. Driven by the desire to offer truly customized designs, she established YU+ME Design Inc. in 2018. Since then, she has been dedicated to crafting interiors that balance elegance, comfort, and functionality.
Yumi is also a certified Senior Home Safety Specialist, allowing her to design spaces that are not only beautiful but also safe and accessible for seniors and individuals with disabilities. As a contributor to Canadian Home Trends Magazine, she shares her expertise and inspiration with a wider audience, helping homeowners reimagine their spaces with confidence.
